First we used dowl rods to fit the foward half of the fuse together, then we glued the top half of the rear section with the foward section, do not glue the bottom rear section at this stage.

Next we made these hard wood blocks with nylon tubes for the eleavators, If you are going to use one rod to connect both elevators together you will need three like photo below.
Note the line drawn on the block,
Even if you plan to use separate controled eleavators use one long carbon rod for your set up of the next setp it will keep everything in line you can cut it later. Place your control rod or pivot rod with the two, or three blocks on it in the model. Set the nylon tube in the saddle area draw a line across the block to indicate the top of the proper cut depth. Trace trace the block outline cut out the inside of the line that you drew.
